FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I want to use this medium to commiserate with those who may have friends, family or acquaintances who are ill or have died from the COVID-19 pandemic within or outside the country. I also want to encourage us all at this period of worldwide travails (healthwise, psychological, socio-economic) resulting from the pandemic. A number of us might in the days and weeks ahead be called upon to directly or indirectly join this war against the virus as numbers of affected people rise. As we go about this and our regular duties I remind us all to protect ourselves, stay safe and I pray that none of us will become victims or suffer any collateral damage. There is no certainty how long the duration of the pandemic will run or the impact it will have on our programs in EMSON, particularly the 42nd AGMSC in Kano in September 2020, but hope it will not disrupt the conference. The LOC in Kano will continue to work on the meeting but most of their work will be expected to be done online with the partial or complete lockdown being implemented in several states of the country. We will continue to monitor the prevailing circumstances and brief you on preparedness for this and other programs through our e-platforms.
Remember to practice regular HANDWASHING, sanitizing of hands, social distancing and great vigilance.
