Official Announcement of the Passing of the President of the Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria (EMSON)

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed President, Prof Aihanuwa Eregie, who left us on 18th May 2024. Prof A. Eregie was a distinguished leader, a compassionate clinician, and a dedicated advocate for the advancement of endocrine health in Nigeria and beyond.

Prof. A. Eregie’s commitment to excellence and tireless efforts in the field of endocrinology have left an indelible mark on the medical community. Her vision, leadership, and dedication have significantly contributed to the growth and success of the EMSON.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Prof A. Eregie’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her life and work. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us in our endeavours to improve endocrine health care. Late Prof. A. T. Eregie has since been buried.
